Video of the week…..

My video of the week this week is the brilliant Sweet Emotion from Aerosmith. The track was originally recorded in 1975 for the Toys in the Attic album but this video was made in 1991 when Columbia released the Pandora’s Box box set! With an instantly recognisable bass line from Tom Hamilton, this is classic Aerosmith at their sleazy best!!

The video of the week this week is from my guests tonight Fables Last Stand. This is a track from the New Breed EP which was released in July. I picked this because I think it’s just a brilliant song!

This weeks video of the week is pure and simply amazing!! It was released in 1988 as the second single from the …And Justice for All album by Metallica. It was also their first video and is quite harrowing. The video was directed by  by Bill Pope and Michael Salomon and won a Grammy for the Best Metallic Performance. It features the band performing the track in a warehouse and scenes from the 1971 movie Johnny Got His Gun starring Jason Robards, which Metallica bought so they could have exclusive rights.  So sit back and enjoy one of the best music videos ever made!!

It’s two for one this week, I was away last week so we’ll make up for it! First is the brilliant video from Twisted Sister for We’re Not Going to Take It. The video just proves you can’t beat rock and roll no matter how much you try. As the kid say’s ‘I Wanna Rock’

You know get past the make up and Twisted Sister made some great music and are still going strong today. Dee Snider has a great voice and that brings me on to video number two this week and it’s going to be a band I played for the first time during the Fallen Fate interview. As far as I know I’m the only person to play them here in the UK and I really think they should be huge! So the connection between the two bands? Jesse Snider the singer with Baptized By Fire is Dee’s oldest son and Dee also appears in the video. Oh and I’d better warn you the video is a bit bloody…..you’ll see why if you watch it, lol.

This weeks video of the week is the new one from Slipknot. The nine piece from Iowa return with their fourth album, All Hope is Gone and this is one of their best tracks in my opinion. The look on my 5 year old nephew’s face when he first saw this band was amazing as he screamed and ran from the room! Only to return and say ‘I like these Uncle Paul’….my sis in law loves me for getting her oldest into metal :-)

This weeks video of the week is….amazing! It’s from a band from Sweden formed in 1999. It’s pounding beat is just brilliant and is what rock is all about!! Forget these crappy emo and Nu-Metal band this is proper rock with a guitar solo in the middle *shock*…..although it could have been longer. This is Dream Evil and the brilliant Book of Heavy Metal, enjoy!

One of my favourite bands at the moment, all the way from Australia. This is the brilliant Love Train from Wolfmother.

This week I’ve picked a classic….Rainbow’s last hit Stone Cold. From the album Straight Between the Eyes this is one of my favourite tracks from the band.

Another of my favourite bands at the moment. This is Aussie rockers Airbourne from their debut album Runnin’ Wild. Sounding very much like fellow Aussie legends AC/DC this band deserve to be huge!!

Black Stone Cherry’s Lonely Train. A track from the debut album from one of my favourite bands at the moment. I played this track on last week’s show. The band are currently in the studio recording their new album which will be released later this year and they are touring the UK in June supporting Whitesnake and Def Leppard.

Coming soon…..

…..Rocktober!!
